CenSys95 market analysis system

Introduction

CenSys95 from Business Geographics is a map-based system for catchment management, market analysis and demographic profiling. For a catchment defined in terms of almost any geographic unit (from enumeration districts through to postcode sectors and media broadcast areas) the system can produce:
  • 1991 Census reports
  • Geodemographic profiles
  • Market potential estimates and maps
  • Because the software is modular in design and allows the easy import of your own and any third party data a large number of datasets, programs, analytical and reporting capabilities may be added as the system grows. Modules currently available cover:
  • Store location with the Retail Locations database
  • Media planning with BARB, ISBA and RAJAR boundaries
  • Drive-time generation and analysis
  • Presentation and facilities management with a multi-media capability
  • CenSys95 is perfect for marketing operations, planners, media buyers, retail and financial organisations who need to determine the demographic composition of a local area, target mailings, locate stores or estimate market potential.

The software is based around MapInfo - one of the leading desktop mapping packages - with further developments under way in Smallworld GIS for larger, multi-user sites. A huge range of datasets are available including:

  • 1991 Census Small Area Statistics, Local Base Statistics etc.
  • MOSAIC and Super Profiles geodemographic classifications
  • Postal Address File (PAF)
  • POSTZON
  • Postcode to Enumeration District link
  • TGI, NRS, FRS and NDL survey research data
  • Postcode sectors, districts and areas
  • 1991 Wards, local authorities, counties, government standard regions
  • ISBA, BARB and other industry-specific boundaries
  • Automobile Association and Ordnance Survey topographic and raster data
  • Systems range in price from around £10,000 (year 1) for a basic CenSys95 package with sector level Census data to around £25,000 (year 1) for an ED-level targeting system. Subsequent year maintenance charges for software and data updates range from around £1,500 to £5,000 depending upon the service level agreement and the number and frequency of updates.
